Tyvek Supply Lists

SUPPLY LIST
  • ·         Parchment paper
  • ·         Tyvek - I have enough for all of us.  I have both fabric and paper tyvek.
  • ·         Background fabric…uglier the better! Remember, your background fabric will show through the tyvek.  You can also use felt for background fabric.  We will be working with fat quarter or smaller sizes.
  • ·         Misty fuse,  Bond a web or Heat ‘n Bond – You want to be able to remove the webbing from the paper, which I was able to do with Heat ‘n Bond.  I have lots of Misty fuse so don’t buy any.  Just bring whatever fusible you have.  Wait to remove the webbing until we need it.
  • ·         Iron, scissors (to cut webbing, fabric, paper dolls!  HA)
  • ·         Padded surface like we made last year.
  • ·         Plastic to paint on & to cover our work area.  I have old pant hangers I’m bringing that I hang the tyvek pieces on to dry.  Works great.
  • ·         Paints:  Just bring 2 or 3 colors that will go with your background fabric.  No need to haul out tons of paints.  Acrylic or fabric paint is fine…cheap works.  I already have blue and yellow Procion Dye in spray bottles that you can use as well.  Note:  Your tyvek will be the main focus/color…background fabric will peek through areas that we burn away. So you either want complimentary or similar color paints depending on look you want.
  • ·         Paint brush to paint/spread on the tyvek piece(s)
  • ·         Container(s) for paints and container for water.
Optional - we don't really need but if you have any, I can demo other things you can do.
  • ·         Sea salt
  • ·         Gesso
  • ·         Molding stamp
  • ·         Foiling for fabric
